General Practitioner
Dr. Kathija Gannie is a highly skilled and experienced General Practitioner with a passion for delivering exceptional healthcare services. Born and raised in Pietermaritzburg, Dr. Gannie developed a strong desire to help others from a young age. This passion led her to pursue a career in medicine, and she has never looked back.
Education and Training
Dr. Gannie graduated from Walter Sisulu University. She then completed 2 years Internship training in Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital in Johannesburg and went on to complete 1 year of community service at Dr Malizo Mpehle Memorial Hospital in the rural town, Tsolo in the Eastern Cape. This experience has equipped Dr Gannie with a deep understanding of the complexities of healthcare delivery in diverse settings.
In addition to her medical degree, Dr Gannie has obtained a postgraduate Diploma in HIV Management by The Colleges of Medicine of South Africa as well as certifications in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular life support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support by the American Heart Association, demonstrating her commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
